The work-session minutes of Tuesday, November 11, 2025 - Veterans Day itself - record the public forum: "Jeanie Hurst - Discussed the tax assessments. Ms. Hurst stated that she disagrees with the mass approach to taxation and would like to see it fixed. She discussed being locked in on a specific income with the raised taxes as a disabled veteran. Mr. Goodin stated there is a military exemption. However, the state sets the exemption amount, not Lee County. Ms. Hurst stated that she agreed with previous citizens, raising concerns about needing validation for the software." Mr. Goodin is the county's Chief Tax Assessor, Doug Goodin. No board action followed in the record. The rest of the window. The county's 2025 and 2026 meeting pages carry 146 agenda, agenda-packet and minutes PDFs; every one was downloaded and read on 2026-11-03, and the Hurst exchange is the window's only veteran item - a September 2025 memorandum-of-understanding's standard non-discrimination clause naming veteran status is the only other mention. No benefit is known to have been adopted, narrowed or repealed in the window.
