Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The deduction and credits are the State's; see the Indiana entries on the 100 percent deduction for totally disabled veterans and on the $350 and $250 credits, including the Form 12662 deadline of January 15, 2027. The county's part is the Auditor's. What the Auditor's page says. "Taxpayers must come into the Auditor's Office to file Homestead Exemptions, Mortgage Exemptions and Veterans' Exemptions for their property taxes." So in Lawrence County the veteran deduction is an in-person filing - bring the VA evidence of total disability (or the rating for the credits), the proof of Indiana residence and the discharge; the Auditor's page names no veteran form of its own, so the State's forms govern. A veteran who cannot come in should call the office about the State's accommodation for incapacity. Where and who.
