Lawrence County (Arkansas) Collector: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

The Lawrence County Collector, Stephanie Harris, at the courthouse, 315 West Main, Walnut Ridge (870-886-1114), takes the State's disabled veteran exemption on the home and personal property; the county posts nothing about it, and since Act 876 of 2025 the VA letter is a one-time filing.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemption is the State's, under section 26-3-306, as the Arkansas entry on the disabled veteran property tax exemption explains: no tax on the home, its land and personal property for a veteran VA rates 100% permanent and total or pays special monthly compensation for the loss or loss of use of a limb or blindness, carried on by an unremarried surviving spouse and minor children. Act 876 of 2025 added to section 26-3-306(b) that the VA letter "is required to be submitted only one (1) time" and that "annual submission of a letter from the department is not required", from the 2025 assessment year, so long as you tell the collector if you stop qualifying or move. File again for a new home. The office. The State portal's Lawrence County page lists Stephanie Harris as Collector, 870-886-1114, 315 West Main, Walnut Ridge, AR 72476, and Becky Holder as Assessor, 870-886-1135, at the same courthouse; the county's own site is offline, so neither office publishes anything on the exemption. Bring the VA letter to the Collector, or have the veterans service office ((870) 886-1115) help with it.
