Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemption is the State's: see the Mississippi entries on the disabled veteran and surviving spouse homestead exemptions (Mississippi Code 27-33-67 and 27-33-75) for the amounts and eligibility. The county's Tax Assessor page says the office "assists homeowners in filing for homestead exemption", and lists among its Important Dates & Deadlines: "January - April 1st (MS Code 27-33-31) Filing homestead applications - Deadline is on or before April 1st". The page publishes no veteran-specific text of its own beyond the window, so the routes and figures rest on the State entries; the county's Veterans Services Office (601-482-9811) helps gather the VA letters the exemption routes need. Where. The Lauderdale County Government Complex, first floor, Meridian; the office hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Tax Collector's page (same complex) carries no veteran text either.
