Lampasas Central Appraisal District: Disabled Veteran Exemption

The Lampasas Central Appraisal District (P.O. Box 175, Lampasas, TX 76550-0175, 512-556-8058, Monday to Friday 8 to 4) carries the State's disabled veteran exemption on its Exemptions page, sending applicants to the Comptroller's 50-135; the county Tax Assessor/Collector publishes no exemption text, so the amounts rest on the State entries.

Also called: property tax, disabled veteran, exemption, 50-135, 11.131, 11.22, Central Appraisal District, Lampasas CAD, 512-556-8058, surviving spouse, Lampasas, Lometa, Kempner, Copperas Cove.

For: Veteran or service member, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemptions are the State's: Tax Code 11.22 (from $5,000 to $12,000 of value by rating from 10%) and 11.131 (the whole homestead at 100% or unemployability), with the surviving spouse routes; see the Texas entries. The Lampasas Central Appraisal District appraises for every taxing unit in the county. What the district publishes. Its Exemptions page lists three routes - "Disable Veteran Exemption", "Homestead Exemption" and "Over-65 Exemption" - under "Texas Property Tax Exemptions" and "Property Tax Assistance". The disabled-veteran route is an interstitial page ("Before you continue…..") whose document is the Comptroller's "Disabled Veteran's or Survivor's Exemption Application" (Form 50-135), the form "Property owners applying for a disabled veteran's or survivor's exemption file ... with the appraisal district in each county in which the property is located (Tax Code Sections 11.22 and 11.43)." The county's Tax Assessor/Collector page covers motor-vehicle transactions and the disabled veteran plates featuring ISA (with the notarised VTR-214 and the DMV's SB 792 guidance), and ends: "Any questions or inquiries regarding property tax, property tax payments, or property tax exemptions; please visit for more information: Lampasas Appraisal District" - so the county office itself publishes no exemption text and the amounts rest on the State entries (docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md).
