Lafourche Parish runs its own Veterans Affairs Office with a Thibodaux office at 2535 Veterans Boulevard and a Mathews office at 4876 Highway 1, helping veterans and families with applications for the benefits they deserve; 985-242-2014.
The Lafourche Parish Veterans Affairs Office provides assistance and other services to veterans as well as their families, such as helping with applications for the benefits they deserve.
Two offices. The Thibodaux office is at 2535 Veterans Boulevard, 985-242-2014, open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Mathews office is at 4876 Highway 1, 985-493-6605, open Thursdays only from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs' directory lists a Lafourche Parish service office at 101 Afton Drive, Thibodaux, with the same 985-242-2014 phone, and an itinerant point at 4876 Louisiana 1 - the state and parish listings describe the same service from different suite addresses, so call before travelling.
The office helps with compensation, pension, education and other federal and state claims, and a veteran receiving the Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal can ask for it to be presented at the parish service office. The parish clerk's site serves a Cloudflare challenge, and the assessor publishes no veteran exemption text, so no other parish entry is recorded for Lafourche.
