Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The board and its record. Matt Salka (Chair, District 3), Marsha Porter-Norton (Vice-chair, District 2) and Elizabeth Philbrick (District 1) convene the first four Tuesdays of the month, 10:00 a.m., Board Room, County Administration Building, 1101 East Second Ave, Durango. Resolution 2026-01, adopted January 13, 2026 (recorded ERECORD Reception# 1250336, superseding Resolution 2025-2), sets the Board's meeting procedure and makes the weekly schedule press releases the published record of times and items; Resolution 2026-02 (Appendix A) is the 2026 schedule. The county's Meetings and Agendas page routes "archived agenda packets, minutes and listen[ing] to meetings prior to March 25, 2025" to Laserfiche; the window's records are portal-only, and the portal's meeting list is a JavaScript postback the reading address could not render - so the weekly schedules are the cited record. The window's press releases were read whole from the county's In the News list (17 saved). The veteran items, in order: - October 16, 2026 release, "Board of County Commissioners' Schedule for October 19 - 24": MONDAY October 19, 2027 Proposed Budget Meetings - "3:00 p.m. Department of Human Services/Veteran Services' Office" (the Veterans' Services Office's 2027 budget review; the proposed budget at lpcgov.org/proposed-budget); SATURDAY October 24, 9:00 a.m. - "Southwest Veterans' Resource Fair. The Board has been invited to attend the Mission Ready: Southwest Veterans' Resource Fair at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Avenue, Durango." - Revised schedule for October 26 - 30 (published as the county's own news release): TUESDAY October 27, 10:00 a.m. Business Agenda - "Proclamations: ... Proclamation of November 4-11 2026 as Operation Green Light for Veterans" (beside the November Adoption Month proclamation, the county cash requirements, the Sheryl Rogers agreement and the rest). Operation Green Light is the national November 4-11 green-light campaign; see the Colorado entry. No veteran benefit was adopted, narrowed or repealed; the budget review is an annual hearing, the fair an event the Board was invited to, and the proclamation a recognition. The county manager's vacancy (interim manager Jeff Hughes, recruitment on the October 27 agenda) runs through the same record; the Clerk to the Board is Elizabeth Dufva, 1101 E. 2nd Ave, Durango, agenda items due to the Clerk by 3:00 p.m. Tuesday preceding. No VFW, Legion or DAV line appears in the other weekly releases; the rest of the window's releases are the fire, flood and road series and commissioner chats.
