Jasper County Veterans Services: No County Officer, a Vet Center Outreach Day and a $12,000 Line
Jasper County keeps no county veterans service officer; TexVet sends county veterans to the Texas Veterans Commission's Lufkin office (936-671-4335), the county's Veterans Services page carries the Beaumont Vet Center's counselling days at the Courthouse Annex, and the county budget moved its $12,000 a year for veterans from the Jasper American Legion to a 'Veteran Services' line in 2026.

No county officer. Jasper County has no veterans service officer on its staff or directory, and its budget carries no veterans department. TexVet's county list gives, for Jasper, the "Texas Veterans Commission Lufkin Office" at (936) 671-4335. The Commission's own county directory is not open to automated reading, so call to confirm where and when the Commission's counselor sees Jasper County veterans. A county of under 200,000 people is not required to keep an officer (Government Code 434.032; see the Texas entry).
The county's page. The Veterans Services page links the Texas Veterans Portal and HUD-VASH housing for homeless veterans, and carries a flyer for the Beaumont Vet Center's "Jasper County CAP Site" at the Jasper County Courthouse Annex, 271 E. Lamar Street, Jasper: counselling for combat veterans, veterans with PTSD or military sexual trauma, activated Reserve and National Guard members with a behavioral health or trauma diagnosis, Coast Guard members who took part in drug interdiction, and veterans studying on VA education benefits. The flyer gives December 15, 2025, January 26 and February 23, 2026, scheduled appointments 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and walk-ins 3 to 5 p.m., and scheduling at 409-347-0124; the page, last modified August 28, 2026, posts no later dates, so call the Vet Center for the next visit.
The money. The 2026 adopted budget (the county's year is the calendar year) carries $12,000 on line 012-005-00-40520, "Veteran Services", in the Non Departmental budget, and drops line 012-027-00-41031, "Jasper American Legion", which had $12,000 in 2024's actual spending and 2025's budget. The 2027 proposed budget keeps the $12,000 "Verteran Services" line. Neither budget says who receives the money or what it buys, and the agendas carry no contract for it; ask the County Judge's office (409-384-2612).
A ride from Tyler County. Presenting the Tyler County Veterans Service Office's report on February to July 2026 to that county's Commissioners Court on August 17, 2026, Amy Lambre said the office serves Tyler County's veterans "along with several Jasper County veterans utilizing transportation with van rides to Houston." Tyler County's Veterans Service Office in Woodville schedules the van at 409-283-2493 (see Tyler County's entry); whether it takes a new Jasper County rider is the office's call.
