Jasper County: County Commission Records and the County Clerk
Jasper County's Commissioners' Office page posts no agendas or minutes files - the page itself refers past minutes to the County Clerk's Office, Room 102 of the Jasper County Courthouse, 302 S. Main St., Carthage, 417-358-0416 - so a veteran tracking a commission decision asks the Clerk; the county's other veteran touchpoint is the Recorder's free recording of discharges under section 59.480.
Also called: county commission, commissioners, minutes, agendas, county clerk, Carthage, Joplin, 59.480, discharge, Joplin, Carthage, Webb City, Carl Junction, Sarcoxie.
Jasper County's Commissioners' Office page names the county's three commissioners - Presiding Commissioner John Bartosh, Eastern District Commissioner Jimmy Morris and Western District Commissioner Michael D. Landis - with Chief of Staff Sherri Cloyd ([email protected]) at 302 South Main Street, Room 101, Carthage, MO 64836, 417-358-0421, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Its AGENDAS and MINUTES buttons link to nothing served on the site, and the minutes note says: "Click the button above to see minutes from the most recent meeting. For past minutes, please contact the County Clerk's Office."
The County Clerk. The county clerk "Maintains all County commission records" among the statutory duties the clerk's page lists. The office is in the Jasper County Courthouse, 302 S. Main St., Room 102, Carthage, MO 64836; 417-358-0416, fax 417-358-0415 (elections 417-358-0413; payroll 417-237-1056). A veteran wanting the commission's action on anything - a road, a budget line, a resolution - asks the Clerk for the minutes.
The Recorder. Missouri's section 59.480 has the county recorder's office record a discharge free of charge; see the Missouri entry. Jasper County's Recorder is in the courthouse; its site names no separate procedure. There is no county veterans service office under Missouri law; the Missouri Veterans Commission's Joplin-area office serves the county, and no county park posts a veteran rate.
