Jackson County Fair: Free Veteran Admission on Veterans Day
The county-run Jackson County Fair charges veterans nothing on its Veterans Day - in 2026 the Thursday of fair week, August 13, when the gate was discounted to $2.50 for everyone for America's 250th, with a patriotic parade, a drone show and a veterans tribute.
Also called: fair, Veterans Day, free admission, gate, America 250, Jackson County Fair, Cascade Falls, fairgrounds, Riflemen, drone show.
The Jackson County Fair is a county operation: the Fair Board and the Parks and Recreation department run the fairgrounds, and the Board's packets carry its plans. The Fair Board's June 16, 2026 packet sets the 2026 themed days, and its fourth item reads: "Thursday-America 250/Veterans Day: Free admission for veterans and discounted admission of $2.50 in celebration of America 250. We will also be having the first ever patriotic themed drone show in Jackson" - viewable from the grandstands - "We will also be having a patriotic parade and the Riflemen band will perform at 2pm for a veteran's tribute". Fair week ran August 9 to 15, 2026, and the 2025 fair had carried a Veterans Day among its themed days too.
The price around it. The fair's own guide in the July 21, 2026 packet prices the week's gates - $10 for adults and $5 for children on ride days, $5 on the no-ride days, seniors free Monday and first responders free Wednesday - and for Thursday: "Thursday is a discounted admission and is only $2.50 to get into the fair." So on the fair's Veterans Day a veteran walked in free while everyone else paid $2.50; no ticket was required for the grandstand. The guide's sponsor map also lists free Veterans Day parking by Experience Jackson.
Ask at the gate for the veteran rate; the fair's published plan asks for no particular proof.
