Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exclusion is the State's, under G.S. 105-277.1C; see the North Carolina entry. Iredell County's tax page: it "is for Honorably Discharged Veterans that are 100% totally disabled from a service-connected disability or that receive benefits for specially adapted housing under 38 USC 2101. There is no income requirement for this exclusion." It lists: "100% permanently disabled due to a service related injury"; "An unmarried surviving spouse may qualify"; specially adapted housing; honorable discharge; "No age or income requirements"; and "Reduction of $45,000 off the value of permanent legal residence including up to 1 acre of land". The application is the Department of Revenue's AV-9, with the NCDVA-9 certification; the statutory deadline is June 1. Where the page is narrower than the law. The statute takes a discharge honorable or under honorable conditions, and an unremarried surviving spouse of a veteran whose death VA certified as service-connected. Go by the statute.
