The FY 2026-2027 proposed budget (filed with the Clerk on August 11, 2026 and on the September 15, 2026 agenda for adoption) has no veterans department; its General Fund departments, with actual spending back to FY 2023, run from the County Judge, courthouse and jail to the tax office, County Attorney, treasurer, auditor, extension agent, DPS, courts, sheriff, elections and indigent health.
