For: Veteran or service member, spouse, child, survivor.
Hawaii maintains the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery at Kaneohe on Oahu, and county veterans cemeteries on the islands of Hawaii, Kauai, Maui, Molokai, and Lanai.
That island-by-island coverage is the point. In a state separated by water, a single cemetery would mean that visiting a grave requires a flight. Having a facility on each major island, including the small populations of Molokai and Lanai, is a deliberate choice about keeping veterans near their families.
For an eligible veteran there is no charge. The benefit includes the gravesite, the marker, the liner, and perpetual care. Qualified dependents may also be buried.
Hawaii also holds one of the most significant federal cemeteries in the country: the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl in Honolulu, administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Punchbowl has been closed to most new casket burials for many years because it is full, though columbarium space and interments in existing family gravesites may still be possible. A family assuming Punchbowl is available should check its current status early rather than at the time of need, because the answer is frequently no and the state and county cemeteries are the practical alternative.
Military funeral honors are arranged through the Hawaii National Guard, usually via the funeral director.
There is no disability rating requirement for any of this. Eligibility follows service and discharge.
Contact the Office of Veterans' Services, which administers the state cemetery and can identify the county contact for each island.

Qualifying service and discharge
Eligibility follows service and a qualifying discharge, with dependents eligible on their own terms. No disability rating is involved, so the rating filter never hides this benefit.
