Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Mo. Rev. Stat. 59.480 makes the recording of a discharge free and limits who may see or copy it; see the Missouri entry. The Recorder's page: "The Recorder's Office records Armed Forces discharge papers for all veterans who reside in the county. This is a free service." The statute itself sets no residence test - section 59.480.2 says discharge documents "shall be accepted for filing by the recorder of deeds in all counties ... without any fee or compensation therefor" - so a veteran living elsewhere who wants a Henry County filing should ask. The page posts no request form; copies go only to the veteran or an authorized party on the Recorders Association of Missouri's notarized form. Its posted fee schedule for non-charter counties prices land records and liens and has no discharge line. Where. Recorder of Deeds Gail A. Perrymann, 100 W.
