The Recorder's own words. The county's Recorder page: "The primary responsibility of the Recorder's Office is to record, index, and maintain all documents transferring land in Henry County. Our land records, which begin in the mid-1800s, establish legal ownership of land and protect landholder's rights. In addition to documents related to land such as deeds, mortgages, liens, trusts, and easements, we also record (DD-214) discharge documents for our veterans. With our records going back so many years, there is a wealth of information for historians and genealogists." The office. Barbara M. The fee letter. The Recorder's 2025 fee schedule letter is posted in the Document Center; the page itself publishes no veteran fee line beyond the recording duty, so the free recording rests on the state's rule and the office's own practice - the State entry carries the DD-214 recording rule.
