Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Henrico levies a vehicle license tax of $20 on a vehicle under 4,000 pounds, $25 at 4,000 pounds and over, and $15 on a motorcycle. Section 22-218(b) of the County Code sets the tax at one-half for any vehicle issued a Virginia National Guard license plate under Code of Virginia section 46.2-744. Eligibility follows the plate. DMV issues it on written confirmation that the applicant is a member of the National Guard, free on one vehicle for a Virginia Guard member, and to an unremarried surviving spouse of an eligible member. For disabled veterans, Henrico's code goes no further than state law: section 22-218(d) exempts only the vehicles section 46.2-755 exempts, which is one vehicle of a veteran with Disabled Veteran plates and the DMV disabled veteran exemption.
