Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The North Carolina Judicial Branch lists Harnett among the counties with an operating veterans treatment court, and Harnett County runs it: the county keeps a Veterans Treatment Court Fund for its revenue and spending, and the court's staff work from 301 West Cornelius Harnett Boulevard, Lillington. Like other veterans treatment courts, it connects veterans in the criminal courts who have substance use, mental health or co-occurring disorders with the treatment and benefits their service earned, under court supervision and with volunteer veteran mentors. Contacts. Zane Campbell, Veterans Court Director, 910-814-4515; Gordon Harrington, Mentor Coordinator, 910-814-4623; case managers Tony Simmons and Haley Corn, 910-814-4490. Funding in the last year. In October 2025 the commissioners discussed the court's sustainability. On April 14, 2026 they approved its application for a federal Bureau of Justice Assistance veterans treatment court grant of up to $1,000,000 over four years, and agreed that the court should ask Harnett, Lee, Johnston and Wake counties for $150,000 each; the director said the other counties' answers were "still fluid". The county manager's recommended budget for fiscal 2027 requested no county money for the court. In September 2026 the board took up $70,000 from Alliance Health for the court's participants. Entry. Neither the court nor the county publishes written eligibility rules, so no discharge or rating test is stated. Ask the defence lawyer about referral, or call the court's director.
