Mo. Rev. Stat. 59.480 makes the recording of a discharge free and limits who may see or copy it; see the Missouri entry. The Recorder's page lists "Servicemen's records" among the documents the office records, and its Military Discharges page says: "Military discharges are recorded at no cost. The original DD-214 must be presented." The page prices plain copies at $1 a page and certified copies at $2 a page for other records; copies of a discharge go only to the veteran or an authorized party on the Recorders Association of Missouri's notarized request, and the page posts no form, so ask the office.
