The fee line. The Recorder's Recording Fees page links "a download of the current Recorder's Fees" - the PREDICTABLE FEE SCHEDULE Classifications box, January 2025 - which carries, beside the "Stamped copy when provided $2.00" line: "Military Discharge - No fee". The page's notes: "Standardization of forms legislation, Public Act # 89-0160 amending 55 ILCS 5/3-5018 provides that all instruments not in compliance with the standardization of forms legislation will be subject to additional fees. Non-standard fees DO NOT apply to documents dated prior to January 1, 1995." The office. The Recorder's menu carries Document Copies & Search, e-Recording, Forms, Recording Fees, Recording Guidelines and the State Lien Registry; the fee schedule is the county's only veteran text on the Recorder's pages, so the free discharge recording rests on the fee line alone.
