Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Grand Isle County has no county government of its own; the state's county offices are the elected State's Attorney and the sheriff. The State's Attorney's staff list on the Department of State's Attorneys and Sheriffs' site - State's Attorney Douglas DiSabito, an administrative assistant and a victim advocate at 3677 U.S. Route 2, PO Box 168, North Hero - names no veteran role; the Department's Grand Isle news page carries nothing after October 6, 2023. The sheriff's department (Sheriff Ray Allen, 10 Island Circle, Grand Isle, office (802) 372-4482, 24-hour dispatch through State Police St. Albans at (802) 524-5993) publishes its own site, crawled page by page: patrol, fingerprinting, civil process, car-seat checks, K-9s, a marine division, search and rescue, youth services, smoke-alarm and home-safety checks, a ride-along programme, a kids' camp, found property, drug take-back, press releases, crime watch, report requests and its fair-information-practices policy - and names no veteran programme anywhere on it; its newest press release is dated October 20, 2021. The claims route the State publishes is the Office of Veterans Affairs' certified service officers, who serve every county from Montpelier by appointment at 802-828-1082; the Office is at 118 State Street, Montpelier, (802) 828-3379, toll free in Vermont (888) 666-9844, office hours Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Office also verifies eligibility for the disabled veteran property tax exemption, applied for through the Office and not through any local office. No town in Grand Isle County is on the Office's crisis page list of 24-hour local lines, so a Grand Isle County veteran in crisis uses 988 then 1, 911 or 211. No veterans treatment docket sits in the county: the Judiciary's current list carries no veterans track anywhere in the state, and no treatment docket at all is listed for Grand Isle.
