Grady County Tax Commissioner (Jeff Worsham) and Tax Assessor (Wendy Sadler): the April 1 route, the scanned state application and no own veteran amounts

The Grady County Tax Commissioner - Jeff Worsham, 114 1st St. NE, Cairo (229-377-3322, fax 229-377-5410, [email protected], Monday to Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Fridays closed) - and Tax Assessor - Chief Appraiser Wendy Sadler, the same building, (229) 377-3325 ext. 3 - publish no veteran exemption amounts of their own: the assessor's page carries the 48-5-44 application language and a scanned Homestead Exemption Application (the State form whose questions include the surviving-spouse and 100%-disabled-veteran rows), both qPublic record-search sites answer a Cloudflare-style block, and the State entries carry the veteran amounts.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemptions are Georgia's: O.C.G.A. 48-5-48 for the qualifying disabled veteran and 48-5-52.1 for the unremarried surviving spouse of a service member killed in a war or armed conflict - the State entries carry the statutes, the qualification list and the yearly indexed amount. What Grady's offices add is the route, and neither office's page prints an amount of its own. Where and who. Tax Commissioner Jeff Worsham, 114 1st St. NE, Cairo, GA 39828, (229) 377-3322, fax (229) 377-5410, [email protected], "Mon - Thur: 7:30am - 6:00pm, Friday: CLOSED". The commissioner's own record-search site is qpublic.net/ga/gradytax/ (not read; the gap goes to docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md). Tax Assessor Wendy Sadler, Chief Appraiser, 114 1st Street North East, Cairo, GA 39828, (229) 377-3325 ext. 3, [email protected], the same Monday-to-Thursday hours; the assessor's qPublic site (qpublic.net/ga/grady) was also not read. The application route. The assessor's own page carries the county's homestead language: "An applicant seeking a homestead exemption as provided in code Section 48-5-44 and qualifying under the provisions of code Section 48-5-44 shall file a written application and schedule with the Tax Receiver charged with the duty of receiving returns of property for taxation at any time during the calendar year subsequent to the property becoming the primary residence of the applicant up to and including April 1st of the following year." The page's Homestead Exemption Application link is a scanned copy of the State's LGS-Homestead Exem-1048 form, whose own questions carry the veteran rows - the surviving spouse of a service member killed in action "while on active duty during a war or armed conflict as described in O.C.G.A. § 48-5-52.1", and the 100%-disabled-veteran rows - the county hosting the State's form rather than printing amounts of its own. Returns and conservation-use applications run "January 1st and April 1st".
