The discharge line. The "Fees of Collection of Gillespie County Clerk (Effective January 1, 2024)": "Military Discharges (DD214) - No Charge." Local Government Code 192.002 makes the filing free, Government Code 603.003 makes the certified copy free, and Government Code 552.140 keeps a discharge recorded on or after September 1, 2003 confidential, releasing it only to the veteran and the others it lists (see the Texas entry).
