Fresno County Parks: Free Entry and Camping for Veterans and Service Members

Since December 18, 2025 every veteran and active-duty member pays no vehicle entrance fee at any Fresno County park, and no campground fee, with proof of status and ID. Others pay $5 a vehicle or $40 a year.

Fresno County Ordinance Code section 13.16.080, as amended by Ordinance 25-027 on November 18, 2025, says "All United States veterans and active-duty service members with proof of status as a veteran or active-duty service member are exempt from vehicle entrance fees for all County parks." The Parks Division goes further: from December 18, 2025, campground fees as well as vehicle entry fees are free for veterans and active-duty personnel who show proof of veteran or active-duty status and valid identification. Other visitors pay $5 a vehicle at developed parks such as Kearney Park, or $40 for an annual pass. No rating, discharge character or county residence is named. The county does not list the proof it takes; a DD-214, VA card or VETERAN-marked California licence, or a military ID for active duty, should serve.
