Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Section 11-29 of the Franklin County Code imposes an annual license tax of $25 on each motor vehicle and $18 on a motorcycle, and lists special classifications: members of the National Guard pay half, and "Disabled Veterans", "Former Prisoners of War", and "Persons awarded the Medal of Honor" pay nothing. The section does not define a disabled veteran or limit the waiver to one vehicle, and it is wider than the state's mandatory rule in section 46.2-755(B), which reaches only one vehicle of a veteran with Disabled Veteran plates and the DMV exemption. Ask the Commissioner of the Revenue what proof it takes. Residents of Rocky Mount and Boones Mill deal with the town for any town fee.
