Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemption is the State's, under section 26-3-306, as the Arkansas entry on the disabled veteran property tax exemption explains: no tax on the home, its land and personal property for a veteran VA rates 100% permanent and total or pays special monthly compensation for the loss or loss of use of a limb or blindness, carried on by an unremarried surviving spouse and minor children. Act 876 of 2025 added to section 26-3-306(b) that the VA letter "is required to be submitted only one (1) time" and that "annual submission of a letter from the department is not required", from the 2025 assessment year, so long as you tell the collector if you stop qualifying or move. File again for a new home. The county's pages. The Collector's page, under Tax Credit: "Disabled American Veterans rated 100% totally and permanently service-connected disabled are entitled to a tax exemption." It does not mention the special monthly compensation route or the surviving spouse and minor children, who qualify under the State rule too, and it sends questions about other benefits for owners who are totally disabled or over 65 to the Assessor (Rose McKinnon, 219 W. Main St., Ozark, 479-667-2415), whose page explains the homestead credit and the Amendment 79 freeze. Bring the VA letter to the Collector, or have the veterans service office (479-667-4677) help with it. The office. County Collector Margaret Hamilton, P.O.
