Fifteenth Circuit Veterans Court (Horry and Georgetown)
The 2026 Directory of South Carolina Diversion Programs and Treatment Courts lists a Veterans Court in the Fifteenth Circuit (Horry and Georgetown counties) under Solicitor Jimmy Richardson: a treatment court whose successful completion dismisses the charges, usually 12 to 18 months; the Solicitor's own pages publish no veterans court page, so ask the circuit's diversion contact, Tiffany Lee, 843-915-5365.
The South Carolina Commission on Prosecution Coordination's 2026 Directory of Diversion Programs and Treatment Courts (December 8, 2025) lists a Veterans Court for the 15th Circuit among the treatment courts the Solicitors' offices run, alongside the circuit's drug and mental health courts. See the South Carolina entry on how solicitors run these courts.
How these courts work, per the directory: they "are offered to defendants as alternatives to traditional criminal prosecution"; eligibility "is subject to solicitor discretion"; a defendant may take part in each program once; "the average duration of a treatment court program is 12-18 months"; and "when a participant has successfully completed the program, their charges associated with their participation in the program are dismissed," after which the participant "may apply for an expungement of their record so the charges are removed entirely."
What the circuit publishes. The Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor's pages (on Horry County's site) describe "The Fifteenth Circuit Treatment Courts" as judicially supervised programs in which participants stay in treatment for nine to eighteen months under close supervision, and name the "Horry County and Georgetown County Drug Court" and the Horry County Mental Health Court; they have no veterans court page and the Treatment Court Client Handbook does not mention one. The Solicitor must refer a defendant to a treatment court, so a veteran should raise it with defence counsel. The directory's contact for the circuit is Tiffany Lee, 843-915-5365, [email protected]; the SCCPC is at (803) 343-0765.
