Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The relief is the State's (T.C.A. 67-5-704; see the Tennessee entry on disabled veteran property tax relief, whose current-year income figure governs); the county trustee is where the application is taken, and Fayette's Trustee publishes the route on its own Property Tax Relief page. The page's eligibility table, with its own 2025 application-cycle wording ("Must be 65 by 12/31/2025" and income on the "2024 Calendar Year"), carries four columns: "ELDERLY HOMEOWNER, DISABLED HOMEOWNER, DISABLED VETERAN HOMEOWNER, WIDOW(ER) OF DISABLED VETERAN HOMEOWNER". For the veteran columns: "Maximum market value on which tax relief is calculated - $175,000" for both the disabled veteran homeowner and the widow(er) of one, against the disabled homeowner's $32,700; the income maximum of "$37,530" for applicant, spouse and all owners of property; and the disability tests. For the disabled veteran: "Your disability must meet one of the following categories: A service-connected disability that resulted in: Paraplegia OR Permanent paralysis of both legs and lower part of the body resulting from traumatic injury or disease to the spinal cord or brain; OR Loss, or loss of use of, two (2) or more limbs; OR Legal blindness. A total and permanent disability rating from a service-connected disability. A 100% total and permanent disability rating from being a prisoner of war. Must not have been dishonorably discharges from any armed services." And the widow(er) route: "Property tax relief shall also be extended to surviving spouse of a disabled veteran who at the time of the disabled veteran's death was eligible for disabled veterans' property tax relief. If a subsequent amendment to the law would have made the deceased veteran eligible, then property tax relief shall also be extended surviving spouse." with "Surviving spouse MUST have been married to the veteran at the time of death and NOT have remarried to be eligible." The page's income figure is its application year's; the State entry carries the current-year limits, and the statute has no income test for the veteran categories. How to apply. "Apply in person. Please call the tax relief coordinator, Lena Parker, to schedule an appointment at 901-465-5224." Where. Fayette County Trustee's Office, P.O.
