The Etowah County Veterans Service Office is at 800 Forrest Avenue, Suite 202, Gadsden 35901. The service officer is Kevin Martin; 256-549-5458 (fax 256-549-5449). Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The same officer serves Cherokee County one day a week from Centre. The office processes compensation and pension applications, appeals, survivors' death benefits, aid and attendance and housebound claims, claim-document certification, military records requests, discharge upgrades and special veteran license plates, at no charge.
