Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Essex County has no county government of its own; the state's county offices are the elected State's Attorney and the sheriff. The county's own site, essexcountyvermont.gov, is an information site for the county and its thirteen towns - town pages, history, art, business and recreation, a government menu linking the Attorney General, the Defender General, the sheriff and the county court's calendars on the Judiciary's site - and no page on it names a veteran programme. The State's Attorney's staff list on the Department of State's Attorneys and Sheriffs' site - State's Attorney Vincent Illuzzi, an administrative assistant and a victim advocate at 38 Water Street, PO Box 226, Orleans - names no veteran role. The sheriff's department is Sheriff Trevor Colby, 91 Court House Drive, Guildhall, phone (802) 676-3500 and fax (802) 676-3400 recorded from the Sheriffs' Association's page, which is the office's only web page. The claims route the State publishes is the Office of Veterans Affairs' certified service officers, who serve every county from Montpelier by appointment at 802-828-1082; the Office is at 118 State Street, Montpelier, (802) 828-3379, toll free in Vermont (888) 666-9844, office hours Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Office also verifies eligibility for the disabled veteran property tax exemption, applied for through the Office and not through any local office. No town in Essex County is on the Office's crisis page list of 24-hour local lines, so an Essex County veteran in crisis uses 988 then 1, 911 or 211. No veterans treatment docket sits in the county: the Judiciary's current list carries no veterans track anywhere in the state, and no treatment docket at all is listed for Essex.
