Enfield Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions

Enfield gives a $3,000 veterans’ exemption, twice that again under the state income limit of $46,300 single or $56,500 married, and the dwelling exemption for a permanent and total rating on the structure only. Its code has no 12-81f local option, although OLR’s 2023 survey recorded one.

Also called: property tax, 12-81g, veterans exemption, assessor, Enfield.

For: Veteran or service member.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Enfield’s Exemptions page gives a veteran of a war period with 90 days of service and an honorable discharge, and no VA rating, a $3,000 assessment exemption; a disability rating may vary the amount. The DD-214 goes to the Town Clerk before October 1. A veteran under the state income limit gets the additional exemption under C.G.S. 12-81g, “equivalent to twice the amount of the regular exemption”. Applications filed now use 2025 income, with limits of $46,300 single and $56,500 married, counting all income, and are due before October 1. A veteran rated permanently and totally disabled at 100 percent has the residential structure exempt under 12-81(83), “the structure only, not the land”, on form D-2 filed every year by January 1. Enfield’s Code of Ordinances adopts only one veterans’ local option, § 78-31, the specially adapted house under 12-81(21). OLR’s 2023 survey recorded Enfield as offering the 12-81f additional exemption without giving an amount; neither the code nor the page shows one. Ask the assessor.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
