Elmore County Revenue: Disability Exemption and Homestead

Elmore County takes the State homestead and disability exemption claims at its revenue office in Wetumpka; neither the county site nor the revenue office site publishes exemption text, so claimants bring the State forms and proofs.

Also called: property tax, homestead, revenue, ad valorem, disability exemption.

For: Veteran or service member.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The State exemptions are the substance here: Code section 40-9-21's complete exemption for a person permanently and totally disabled on the principal residence and up to 160 acres, and section 40-9-19's routes, as the State's principal-residence entries explain. In Elmore County the claims are taken by the revenue office in Wetumpka. What could not be read. The revenue office's own site is a bare property-record search portal that serves no exemption text, and the county site's revenue section is a JavaScript page carrying no exemption rules, so no published county rule is recorded here. An Elmore County claimant should call the revenue office before filing and ask what proof it wants, taking the State's forms and the VA letter.
