East Bridgewater Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions (Clauses 22 to 22F)

East Bridgewater’s Exemptions for Veterans page posts the Commonwealth’s generic Clause 22 brochure at the statute’s own amounts with no amount of the town’s, so this entry gives the statute’s.

Also called: property tax, clause 22, 22E, veterans exemption, assessors, East Bridgewater.

For: Veteran or service member, spouse, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Town of East Bridgewater grants the veterans’ exemptions of G.L. c. 59, s. 5, clauses 22 to 22F, through its board of assessors. The statute sets them as dollars off the tax bill, $400 under clause 22, $750, $1,250 and $1,500 under 22A to 22C and $1,000 under 22E, and exempts the whole domicile under 22D and 22F; a town can add to them only by accepting a local option, clause 22I, clause 22J or section 5C½. Every figure on this entry carries its source and the day it was read. The Assessors Department page names David Lincoln Phillips, Susan Mulloy and Steven R. Solari the elected board members at 175 Central Street (508-378-1609), with Paula Wolfe the Director of Assessing and Sheila DaSilva the Assistant Assessor. Its Exemptions for Veterans page posts no amount of the town’s own: the Clause 22 (PDF) it links is the Commonwealth’s generic brochure, printing the statute’s $400, $750, $1,250, $1,500 and $1,000 and full exemption under 22D and 22F, and asking the pre-HERO Act residency test of five years before filing, or one year where the community has accepted the local option, beside a Veterans Exemption Application that is the state’s own. No acceptance of clause 22I or 22J was found on the town’s site, so the figures here are the statute’s. The Veterans’ Services page names Chris Buckley the Veterans’ Service Officer at 175 Central Street (508-378-1603), where the EOVS directory lists Christopher Buckley at the same Town Office ([email protected]), and describes the office’s chapter 115 financial assistance and medical care for eligible veterans and their families, its referrals to the VA hospital, housing, employment and educational services, and its decoration of veterans’ graves. The office’s November 2026 service-hours notice has the officer directing the Tri-Town Veterans’ Day Parade and a Veterans’ Night at the East Bridgewater Commercial Club; the site names no post of its own. Chapter 115 benefits, the Commonwealth’s needs-based help with rent, food, fuel and medical costs, are applied for through East Bridgewater Veterans’ Services: Chris Buckley, Veterans’ Service Officer. Their amounts are set by the Commonwealth and are the same in every city and town; the statewide chapter 115 entry describes them.

The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
