Duxbury Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions (Clauses 22 to 22F)

Duxbury’s www.duxbury-ma.gov domain serves a for-sale lander and town.duxbury.ma.us answers a Cloudflare challenge, so its assessing and veterans’ pages were read through the Internet Archive’s 2023 captures, the newest the Archive holds; they print no clause amounts, so this entry gives the statute’s.

Also called: property tax, clause 22, 22E, veterans exemption, assessors, Duxbury.

For: Veteran or service member, spouse, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Town of Duxbury grants the veterans’ exemptions of G.L. c. 59, s. 5, clauses 22 to 22F, through its board of assessors. The statute sets them as dollars off the tax bill, $400 under clause 22, $750, $1,250 and $1,500 under 22A to 22C and $1,000 under 22E, and exempts the whole domicile under 22D and 22F; a town can add to them only by accepting a local option, clause 22I, clause 22J or section 5C½. Every figure on this entry carries its source and the day it was read. www.duxbury-ma.gov, the domain of the town’s own email addresses, answers 200 only to send every path to a for-sale lander, and town.duxbury.ma.us answers a Cloudflare challenge that does not clear (issue #196), so the Assessing Department, Board of Assessors and Veteran’s Office pages were read through the Internet Archive’s captures of March to June 2023, the newest the Archive holds for any of them. The Assessing Department’s page counts “exemption, and abatement programs” among its work and asks “What Programs Does the Town of Duxbury Offer to Reduce Taxes?” with no amount of the town’s own on it, so the figures here are the statute’s. The Assessing Department’s page names Stephen J. Dunn, RMA, RA the Director of Assessing and Scott J. Timulty, MAA the Assistant Assessor at the Board of Assessors, 878 Tremont Street (781-934-1100, extension 6010), and the board’s page names Nancy D. Reed its key contact, the board meeting every Tuesday at 4:00 pm. The Veteran’s Office page names Michael Thorp the Veterans’ Agent at (781) 934-5774, extension 5740, with the office at the Duxbury Senior Center, 10 Mayflower Street, and mail to 878 Tremont Street. The EOVS directory’s September 7, 2026 row names Sara Lansing the Veterans’ Agent at the same address and extension, so the entry asks the town to confirm the office’s officer. Chapter 115 benefits, the Commonwealth’s needs-based help with rent, food, fuel and medical costs, are applied for through Duxbury Veteran’s Office: Sara Lansing, Veterans’ Agent (EOVS directory). Their amounts are set by the Commonwealth and are the same in every city and town; the statewide chapter 115 entry describes them.

The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
