Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

DeSoto County participates in Operation Green Light for Veterans, a National Association of Counties initiative in which county governments light buildings green around Veterans Day to show support for veterans. The county's page for the program records the Board of Supervisors lighting DeSoto County buildings green from November 4 to November 11, 2025, and inviting businesses, organizations, HOAs, residents and other governments to join by lighting buildings and homes green in the same window. Individuals are told they can participate by changing one exterior or interior light bulb to a green bulb, at any time of year. This is an awareness observance, not a benefit: nothing is paid, discounted or waived, and no eligibility is involved. It is written up because it is the county's own veteran program and because a veteran who sees the green buildings can use the page to find the county's veteran services office.
