Mail the document with a self-addressed envelope to Clerk and Recorder, Recording Department, 200 W. 14th Avenue, Denver, CO 80204, or bring it to the Recording office there. Make sure it is going to the right county: Denver cannot reject or refund a document recorded in error. Who can see it. C.R.S. 24-72-204(3)(a)(XVIII) closes discharge records filed with a county clerk and recorder to the public and lets the custodian open them only to the veteran or, if the veteran has died, to the veteran's parents, siblings, widow or widower, and children. Certified copies of recorded documents are $1 per document plus 25 cents a page. Ask the Recording office how it releases a recorded DD-214; its pages do not say.
