Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Every Ohio commission must arrange regular transport to the VA medical centres serving the county (Revised Code 5901.03(H); see the Ohio entry). The Delaware County commission runs its own transportation department under a transportation officer, with drivers of its own, and books rides on 740-833-2012, weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; a message with name, appointment time, date and location can be left at any hour. What it covers, on three business days' (72 hours') notice: all VA medical facilities within 50 miles of the county, and all VA referral appointments to physicians outside VA facilities. The county's own VA community-based outpatient clinic opened January 30, 2026 at 870 Sunbury Road in Delaware's Glenwood Commons, so much VA care is now local; the office's own pages also name the Columbus VA outpatient clinic and the Marion CBOC as routine destinations. On extended scheduling, the department also takes veterans to non-VA medical appointments, to life-enrichment activities at SourcePoint (the county's senior centre) and other agencies, and on local necessity trips. Rides are reserved for veterans of the county who have no other means of transportation or cannot drive for medical reasons. No rating is needed. Overflow and the bus. Requests the office cannot fit go to Delaware County Transit, and bus passes on the Transit system are available to every veteran. The commission's 2027 budget carries $100,000 for transportation services and leases its vehicles through the county's Enterprise fleet trust.
