Dedham Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions (Clauses 22 to 22F)

Dedham’s assessors’ page processes exemptions without printing an amount and its site answers Akamai’s “Access Denied”, so this entry gives the statute’s, read through the Internet Archive’s captures.

Also called: property tax, clause 22, 22E, veterans exemption, assessors, Dedham.

For: Veteran or service member, spouse, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Town of Dedham grants the veterans’ exemptions of G.L. c. 59, s. 5, clauses 22 to 22F, through its board of assessors. The statute sets them as dollars off the tax bill, $400 under clause 22, $750, $1,250 and $1,500 under 22A to 22C and $1,000 under 22E, and exempts the whole domicile under 22D and 22F; a town can add to them only by accepting a local option, clause 22I, clause 22J or section 5C½. Every figure on this entry carries its source and the day it was read. www.dedhamma.gov, to which dedham-ma.gov redirects, answers Akamai’s “Access Denied” to curl and to a visible Chrome window alike, and the apex serves the same block (issue #202), so the Assessors and Veterans Services pages were read through the Internet Archive’s captures of October 23 and August 14, 2026. The Assessors page names Kevin Doyle the Director of Assessing (781-751-9131), Paul D’Olimpio the Assistant Director and Colleen McGourty and Susan Munchbach the Assessing Specialists at 450 Washington Street, and counts processing “applications for tax exemptions for the elderly, disabled veterans, widows and widowers, and blind or visually impaired citizens” among the department’s duties, with no amount of the town’s own on the page, so the figures here are the statute’s. The page’s Tax Relief subpage has no capture in the Archive. The Veterans Services page names Joe Hamilton the Veterans Services Officer (781-751-9264) and Patty Columbo the Administrative Assistant (781-751-9267), on the third floor of the Ames Building at 450 Washington Street, where the EOVS directory lists Joseph Hamilton with the main line’s other number, (781) 751-9265. The page describes the department as processing veteran’s benefit applications and administering various veteran’s benefits. Chapter 115 benefits, the Commonwealth’s needs-based help with rent, food, fuel and medical costs, are applied for through Dedham Veterans Services: Joe Hamilton, Veterans Services Officer. Their amounts are set by the Commonwealth and are the same in every city and town; the statewide chapter 115 entry describes them.

The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
