What was read, and what was not. The Public Notices calendar has a "Commissioners' Court Meeting" category but no events for September 2025 to November 2026, and no page posts agendas or minutes, so the Court's year was not read; the Budgetary Public Notices page stops with FY 2022. What the record shows. The FY 2027 approved budget keeps department 4420, "Veteran's Service", at $43,080 with a $40,000 officer's salary, and pays the utilities of a "Veteran's Building" (see dawson-tx-veterans-services). The county's FY 2026-2027 holiday list, "Approved 5/12/2026", names 13 holidays, among them Columbus Day and Memorial Day, but not Veterans Day.
