Dade County Tax Commissioner (Angie M. Galloway): the county’s homestead and elderly exemption route, whose own pages print no veteran row - the amounts rest on the State entries

The Dade County Tax Commissioner - Angie M. Galloway, 71 Case Avenue, Trenton, GA 30752, P.O. Box 349 (706-657-7563, Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., dadecountypay.com) - takes the applications, and the Tax Commissioner's own General Information page prints the homestead and elderly routes: "There are several types of homestead exemptions which help to reduce the burden of ad valorem taxation on Georgia homeowners" and "There are several types of exemptions for the elderly (must be over 62 with a household income that does not exceed $10,000)", with qualification "to own and occupy the property as of January 1 of that same year" and an April 1 filing deadline, but no Disabled Veterans row printed - the county's own veteran amounts rest on the State entries, and the Tax Assessors' qPublic site was not read (the gap goes to docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md).

Where it applies

The county's own route. The Tax Commissioner's own site, dadecountypay.com, prints its exemption text on the General Information page: "Homestead Exemption - There are several types of homestead exemptions which help to reduce the burden of ad valorem taxation on Georgia homeowners, and such exemptions apply to homestead property owned by the taxpayer and occupied as his/her legal residence. Qualification - To receive such an exemption, the taxpayer must file an initial application by April 1 of the applicable year. Eligibility rules also require the individual to own and occupy the property as of January 1 of that same year. Once granted, the homestead exemption is automatically renewed each year..." and "Elderly Exemption - There are several types of exemptions for the elderly (must be over 62 with a household income that does not exceed $10,000). The Board of Tax Assessors makes the final determination as to eligibility with respect to all homestead exemptions; however, if the application is denied, the taxpayer must be notified and has the right to an appeal. There may be more exemptions you qualify for after the age of 65. Please contact the Dade County Property records office (706) 657-6341." The page prints no Disabled Veterans row and no surviving-spouse row, so the county's own veteran amounts are the State's: the Disabled Veterans Homestead Exemption of O.C.G.A. 48-5-48 at its yearly indexed amount and the surviving-spouse exemption of 48-5-52.1 (the State entries carry both). The route. "To receive such an exemption, the taxpayer must file an initial application by April 1 of the applicable year." The Tax Commissioner: Angie M. Galloway, 71 Case Avenue, Trenton, GA 30752, P.O. Box 349, (706) 657-7563; lobby hours "Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 4:45 pm, Friday 8:00 am - 2:00 pm"; the office's own news post carries the 2026 tax date - "2026 Property Tax are Due Nov 15, 2026". The qPublic record-search site (qpublic.net/ga/Dade) answers a Cloudflare-style block (403) and was not read (the gap goes to docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md).
