Cornwall Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions

Cornwall’s pages carry no veterans’ content and the town did not answer OLR’s 2023 survey, so whether it offers a municipal option is not recorded.

Also called: property tax, 12-81g, veterans exemption, assessor, Cornwall.

For: Veteran or service member.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The town offices page names Assessor Kayla Johnson, with JoAnne Dodge as associate assessor, and gives the office’s hours and contacts; no Cornwall page prints a veterans’ exemption or posts a veterans’ form. The wartime exemption is $1,000 of assessed value under 12-81(19), with the 12-81g(a) additional exemption of twice that for income within the 12-81l limit, $46,300 single and $56,500 married for the 2026 grand list. Cornwall is not among the 117 municipalities OLR’s 2023 survey records as answering, so whether it offers a 12-81f additional exemption, the 12-81g(b) option or any other municipal option is not recorded. No Cornwall code was found on a readable host; ask the assessor.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
