Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Town of Concord grants the veterans’ exemptions of G.L. c. 59, s. 5, clauses 22 to 22F, through its board of assessors. The statute sets them as dollars off the tax bill, $400 under clause 22, $750, $1,250 and $1,500 under 22A to 22C and $1,000 under 22E, and exempts the whole domicile under 22D and 22F; a town can add to them only by accepting a local option, clause 22I, clause 22J or section 5C½. Every figure on this entry carries its source and the day it was read. The Tax Exemption Information page prints “Clause 22-$845/ 22A-$1,586/ 22B-$2,646/ 22C-$3,170/ 22D-Full/ 22E-$2,114/ 22F-Full”. $400, $750, $1,250, $1,500 and $1,000 doubled and raised by the fiscal 2026 adjustment of 2.9 per cent and the fiscal 2027 adjustment of 2.7 per cent give $845.43, $1,585.17, $2,641.96, $3,170.35 and $2,113.57, so the amounts are the statutes doubled and raised by both years’ adjustments, what clauses 22I and 22J at 100 per cent produce; the $2,646 printed under 22B sits $4 above its compounded figure. The page names no option, and no town meeting vote was found in the town’s online records, so ask the assessors to confirm. The Veterans’ Services page names Dick Krug the Veterans Services Officer at 55 Church Street (978-318-3038), where the EOVS directory lists Richard Krug at the same address. Chapter 115 benefits, the Commonwealth’s needs-based help with rent, food, fuel and medical costs, are applied for through Concord Veterans’ Services: Dick Krug, Veterans Services Officer. Their amounts are set by the Commonwealth and are the same in every city and town; the statewide chapter 115 entry describes them.

The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
