Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Alabama Administrative Office of Courts' map of veterans courts, revised in 2026 and titled "28 Active Veterans Courts", shades Colbert County as an active veterans court (the county is filled with the active colour in the map's own vector fills; neighbouring Franklin and Lawrence are not). Colbert is its own circuit - the Thirty-First Judicial Circuit, with Presiding Circuit Judge Kyle W. Brown and Circuit Judge Mitchell D. Hays at the Colbert County Courthouse, 201 North Main Street, Tuscumbia. What is not published. The AOC lists veterans courts with its other accountability courts but gives no per-court eligibility, contact or process, and neither the county's site nor the circuit's describes the court. A veteran facing charges should ask a defence lawyer to raise it early, or ask the Colbert County Veterans Service Office for the coordinator's contact.
