Clermont County Auditor: Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemption
The Clermont County Auditor takes the State's disabled veteran homestead application, online or on paper by December 31, but its page still gives the pre-inflation HB 85 figures, $28,000 and $56,000, where tax year 2026 real property is $59,400, and describes the veteran only as 100 percent disabled, leaving out unemployability.
Also called: homestead, property tax, DTE 105I, county auditor, Linda Fraley, unemployability, 323.152.
The exemption is the State's, under Revised Code 323.152(A)(2); see the Ohio entry. File DTE 105I, with the DD-214 and the VA award letter, with the Clermont County Auditor, Linda L. Fraley, 101 East Main Street, Batavia (513-732-7150), by December 31, or file electronically through the Auditor's online filing. There is no income test for the disabled veteran exemption.
Where the page is out of date. It says veterans "who are 100 percent disabled from a service-related disability" get an increased exemption "from $28,000 to $56,000". Those were the figures when House Bill 85 passed; the reduction is indexed to inflation, and for tax year 2026 real property it is $59,400 of market value ($58,000 for 2025). The page also leaves out section 323.151(F), which counts a veteran paid at the 100 percent rate for individual unemployability; a veteran rated 100% or paid at the 100% rate for unemployability whose rating is not yet permanent qualifies and should file DTE 105I with the unemployability decision. The page does note House Bill 479's one-time state credit of about $450 for homestead recipients, applied automatically to 2026 real property bills issued in 2027, and warns against a circulating fake federal "Senior Homeowner Tax Review Request" form.
