The record. The county's Agendas and Minutes page (chavescounty.gov/government/agendas_and_minutes.php) posts the Board's agendas and minutes; the window's 23 files - 2025 October, November (with its two specials) and December (with its two specials) agendas and minutes, and every 2026 agenda from January through September plus the August specials - were downloaded and read. The 2026 October agenda was posted (timestamp 20261012) but its file answers 404, and no 2026 minutes were yet posted at the read; those gaps go to docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md. The Board meets the third Thursday at 9:00 a.m., 1 St. Mary's Place, Roswell. The veteran items: - October 2025 agenda: the resolution supporting New Mexico Counties' legislative priorities, including item 3, "Timeline for Veteran Property Tax Exemptions" - "Require all veterans to file for a property tax exemption within the existing property tax annual schedule to ensure equitable treatment for all taxpayers and allow counties to accurately budget for the fiscal year. Veterans would have 30-days after the notice of value to file an exemption or request an extension for up to 180 days to resolve any delays in certification." - March 2026 agenda: the county's ICIP capital-outlay list, project 32473 - "New Veterans Vans for SENM", Vehicles - Other, $250,000 in FY 2029 (the Southeast New Mexico veterans transportation vans). - The November 2025 special and the 2026 agendas carry the county's equal-opportunity clause naming veteran status among the protected classes, and the November agenda's holiday schedule closes county offices on Veterans Day. No veteran benefit was adopted, narrowed or repealed in the window. The county's FY2025-2026 final budget carries no veterans department; the tax-exemption and van items are legislative priorities and capital requests, not county programmes.
