The Board's year. On June 24, 2025 Mr. Todd and Bud Statz brought the Veteran's Service Board's minutes; the Board re-appointed Ed Arenz to the Veteran's Service Board to June 30, 2030 and, finding that the officer had missed two 3 percent raises since the post became hourly in 2023, raised his wage 6 percent. Asked why the aid fund's relief line had been cut from $6,000 to $3,600, the commissioners said it had not been used for years and that other money would be available if needed (see the aid entry). On January 27, 2026 Mr. Todd told the Board of LB1072, which he said would cut State funding including veterans aid, and on April 28, 2026 thanked it for letting him write to the Legislature as the county's officer. On June 23, 2026 he brought the Veteran's Service Board's minutes and his 2026-2027 budget, and the Board re-appointed Louis "Bud" Statz for five years. Perkins County's 2025 proceedings record that Chase County's Veterans Service Board declined to share an officer with Perkins County in March 2025 (see the Perkins County office entry). The money. The office (803) spent $28,093.36 in 2024-2025 and $28,665.56 in 2025-2026, and the 2026-2027 budget the Board adopted on September 22, 2026 (Resolution 2026-18) gives it $33,550.00, the officer's $25,000.00 salary and $750.00 for grave markers and flags among it; at the August 11, 2026 budget workshop the Board found the request "within a couple hundred dollars of prior year".
