Campbell County Tax Payment Extension for Deployed Service Members

Campbell County automatically extends real estate tax on the primary residence and personal property tax on a car of a service member deployed outside the United States, Guard and reserve included, to 90 days after the deployment ends, with no penalty.

Also called: deployment, deployed, tax extension, penalty, active duty, National Guard.

For: Veteran or service member.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Section 9-1.2(A) of the Campbell County Code allows "an automatic extension" on real property taxes on a primary residence and personal property taxes on a qualifying vehicle "owed by members of the armed services of the United States deployed outside of the United States". The taxes fall due 90 days after the deployment ends, so no 10% penalty or interest runs while the member is away. The armed services include active duty with the regular forces and the National Guard and other reserve components. Tell the Treasurer about the deployment so the bill is held.
