Director Matthew Brown, 200 S. Center St., Ebensburg, PA 15931; (814) 472-1590, fax (814) 472-1423 (the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs' September 9, 2026 list). What it does. The county's page: "Advise, assist and counsel Veterans and their families in the process necessary to obtain Veterans' benefits; Assist Veterans, Veterans' surviving spouses or dependents in providing information, and completing forms and documents when applying for benefits; Establish military /claim data files on all Veterans coming into the office; Distribute death benefit claims for the county; Transmit records for deceased Veterans to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, as required by the county code; Control and distribute U.S. flags and holders to various service organizations for placement on appropriate Veterans' gravesites." It takes applications for the State's real estate tax exemption and Veterans' Temporary Assistance (up to $1,600 in twelve months, by the page). How. "We are working by appointment. The office posts a list of local businesses that give veterans a discount - mostly 5 to 20 percent, a few hotels at the government per diem - in Ebensburg, Johnstown, Richland, Westmont and elsewhere; the businesses set the terms. Read the date. The county's site refuses automated fetches, so these pages are read from Internet Archive captures (the office page of September 3, 2026; the discount list of December 22, 2025).
