Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Lake Julian Park is a Buncombe County park, and fishing there needs a park fishing permit. The fee schedule the commissioners adopted with the fiscal 2027 budget on June 2, 2026 has a "Senior & Veteran" permit "for people 65+ and veterans": - Annual fishing permit: $10 a year, against $25 for the ordinary annual permit. - Daily fishing permit: $3 a day, against $4. A lifetime permit for $10 is sold to people 70 and over and to the disabled, which a disabled veteran may also qualify for. The schedule does not say what proof of veteran status the park takes; bring a DD-214, a VA card or a driver licence with the veteran designation. The park permit is the county's; it is not a State fishing licence.
