Blount County Veterans Court (Forty-First Judicial Circuit)

The Administrative Office of Courts' veterans courts map (revised 2026) fills Blount County with the active-court color among the state's 28 active veterans courts, and its adult drug courts map counts Blount among the 47 operating adult drug courts - the county's veterans docket sits with the 41st Circuit's courts at the Blount County Courthouse, 220 2nd Avenue East, Oneonta, under Presiding Circuit Judge Gregory J. Reid and District Judge Sherry C. Burns; the county's own pages name no coordinator, so a veteran asks the Circuit Clerk (Cindy Massey, 205-973-0499) or defence counsel for the referral.

The map. The Alabama Administrative Office of Courts' "Map of Veterans Courts" (Veterans Courts.pdf, revised 2026, the copy on alacourt.gov) fills the counties with active veterans courts in the active color and carries the legend "28 Active Veterans Courts"; read through the PDF's vector fills, Blount County sits in the active color - as do Colbert, St. Clair and Cullman beside it - while Franklin and Lawrence counties sit in the inactive gray. The AOC's "Map of Adult Drug Courts" fills Blount County with the operating color among the "47 Operating Adult Drug Courts". Blount is the only county in the 41st Judicial Circuit. Who runs it. The 41st Circuit's judges are Honorable Gregory J. Reid, Presiding Circuit Judge (County Courthouse, Room 207, 220 Second Avenue East, Oneonta) and Honorable Sherry C. Burns, District Judge (Room 209); Circuit Clerk Cindy Massey keeps the dockets at 220 2nd Ave E, Room 208 (205-973-0499). Alabama's veterans treatment courts are problem-solving courts "created... to address the underlying causes of a veteran's involvement with the judicial system through the use of specialized dockets, multidisciplinary teams, and evidence-based treatment", with a volunteer veteran-mentor corps; the referral runs through the judge, the District Attorney, the Public Defender or a private defence attorney, and veterans with any variation of discharge may be considered. The county's own pages. Neither the Circuit Clerk's site (blount.alacourt.gov) nor the Commission's site names a Blount veterans-court coordinator - the map is the published record, and the gap goes to docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md. A justice-involved veteran starts with the Circuit Clerk's counter or defence counsel and asks for the veterans docket.
