Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Board's year in its own records, read whole. The November 3, 2025 work-session item "Operation Green Light for Veterans" came from County Manager Brian Alligood: "for the last several years Beaufort County has participated in that program. We essentially take lights that light up our buildings and put green shades on them so that it projects a green light. That is a symbol for our veterans that this is a safe place and we support them as they transition out of the military and back into civilian life. We have the resolution that we would ask for you to approve." The same meeting's minutes carry the adoption: "Commissioner Booth motioned to approve the resolution as presented. Commissioner Walker seconded. The vote was unanimous." The resolution's operative words: "NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, with designation as a Green Light for Veterans County, Beaufort County hereby declares November 4, 2025, through Veterans Day, November 11, 2025, a time to salute and honor the service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform" - the NACo resolution text the county has adopted for several years. The rest of the year's veteran items are service-level: the January 5, 2026 employee-recognition list crediting "Jennie Haddock - Veteran Affairs ... 5 YEARS"; the February 11, 2026 planning retreat's "Veteran Services Update - Jennie Haddock, VSO"; and the March 2, 2026 consent item accepting the $20,000 NC Department of Military and Veterans Affairs grant for the office's records digitisation. No veteran benefit was adopted, narrowed or repealed.
